Can't activate Media recorder

Asked by Derek Eyre @ 12 Jan 2018 11:01 / Views: 15

I have just re-downloaded Media Recorder for Mac (OS10.12.6) but it won't accept my activation key that I have used before.  The program hangs at the activation window without any error message.  I can't quit the program other than Force quit.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Derek,

I would suggest doing a basic reinstall. If that doesn't work then I would try a full reinstall. If there is a break in the programs processes, then a reinstall should reset them.

Basic reinstall - uninstall (delete app from Applications), reboot, reinstall

Full reinstall -uninstall (delete app from Applications), then in Finder go to the top menu and then access Go > (holding one of shift/alt/control/command) Library > Application Support > Jaksta Media Recorder and delete that folder (NOTE: doing this will erase your library file list in Jaksta, but your downloaded/converted files will remain intact). Reboot the Mac and then do a reinstall of the latest version (https://www.jaksta.com/download/mac/jaksta-media-recorder) and it will regenerate a new copy of the deleted folder and the application files.

Let me know if the problem continues.

Hi Liam

I did a full reinstall.  I ran the program and entered my activation key and clicked Activate.  The activate button changed colour for a few moments and then nothing happened.  I had to force quit.  I ran the program a second time and when I clicked the Activate button this time I got the error message 'There has been too many attempts using this activation key'.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Derek

Hi Derek,

I have cranked up the number of activations allowed for your license, so that should not be an issue anymore.

Give the activation another try and if when you click the 'Activate' button it reacts but then needs to be force shut down, close it and reopen it and see if it is activated.

Sometimes the activation sticks even if the program seems to react negatively or does not react at all.

Hi Liam

That did the trick and it responded with a confirmation message that the program is activated.

Thank you for your help.
