Vimeo downloads come with out audio

Every time I try to download a video from vimeo; is no audio track

Hi Louis,

Are you running the latest OS update - 10.12.4?

For some reason, ever since updating some users have started having this problem. We will be releasing a Jaksta update that should fix this shortly, which you should receive a notice for. 

If you are not running the newest OS (or even if you are), are you able to send through a log file so that we can look into it?

You an find it in Jaksta by going to Preferences > General > Find Log File.

Please also provide a link to a video that is giving you this problem.

Log Attach !! the app keeps closing by iself, Not working at all.

Hi Louis,

If it has started crashing on its own then start by doing a reinstall, and that should fix any breaks in the operation of the actual program. 

Once (or if) it comes good, just try doing a test run on some YouTube videos. If it does not repair itself, come back and we will investigate further.

I have tested your Vimeo video in the beta version of the next update, and it has worked and been downloaded with audio.

As suggested before, you can either revert to an older Mac OS or wait for the next update to be released in the next week or so. The update should also fix the crashing problem you are having, if a reinstall doesn't do it anyway.

Hello, I opened the app today and I found that is a new version. I download and when I try to opened. Is asking me for activation code. I purchase my lest Thant a year. Pls let me know what to do? Thank you

Hi Louis,


When the in-app update checker appeared it would have said that the new version was a paid upgrade and that there is a discount offer available to existing license holders.


What you will need to do is follow the link provided for the discount offer and then input your current activation code to gain access to the offer: http://store.shedworx.com/store/purchase.do?offer_id=2540


You will then be emailed a new activation code for the Jaksta Media Recorder 2.0 which you can use for the new version you are running.


If you are not interested in the paid upgrade, then you can download the installer from here: http://download.shedworx.com/jaksta/beta/Jaksta-1.5.1.pkg

Hi Phil,

Short answer is because it is considered more than a standard update, as the new version(s) contain new content/features which classes it as an upgrade.
