I keep getting this error message since upgrading my OS to Big Sur

What can I do?

Hi Baljit,

Try the following:

  • Open System Preferences and got to Security & Privacy > Privacy
  • Unlock the padlock in the bottom corner and enter your Mac password
  • Go down to the 'Screen Recording' category
  • Untick the checkbox for Jaksta Screen Recorder and then retick it 
    • If it is already unticked when you first look at it then just tick it ON
  • Go down to the 'Microphone' category
  • Untick the checkbox for Jaksta Screen Recorder and then retick it 
    • If it is already unticked when you first look at it then just tick it ON
  • Lock the padlock to confirm the changes

Let me know if you continue to have problems.

i am having the same problem as Baljit had.  i went to privacy and unchecked and rechecked the jaksta screen recorder and the microphone.  however, my problem continues.

Hi John,

I would suggest trying to do a basic reinstall - uninstall, reboot, reinstall.

Also make a point to perform the padlock unlock/lock process in the instructions listed above.

Hi John,

Here is the process:

  1. Delete (uninistall) Jaksta Screen Recorder from your Applications folder
  2. Reboot the Mac
  3. Reinstall Jaksta Screen Recorder after downloading the installer from our site: https://www.jaksta.com/download/mac/jaksta-screen-recorder
