Jaksta Media Recorder for Windows

Asked by Peter Chapman @ 01 Apr 2021 11:04 / Views: 21

I bought this initially because it advertised best recorder for Now Tv yet there is no option anywhere to Ensure the  Digital Video Recorder Capture Method is selected to capture Nowtv and Nowtv refuses to play on the Nowtv player as it detects a recording device. Other options such as Netflix and Disney show in your list of sources but don't work saying "DVR IS NOT AVAILABLE The DVR features are not installed correctly. Please reinstall this application" . I have done this. I thought I would try something more simple and copy and paste the URL I tried this with Disney and Youtube both set about recording lots a crap I didn't need but failed with an error on the thing I was trying to obtain. So far this has been a complete waste of money and time.

Your logs show you trying to use AUTO mode to download Disney.  Premium sites such as Disney can not be recorded using direct download and therefore you need to use DVR mode.  In DVR mode you will need to open the DVR browser (the globe icon) and then navigate to (logging in if required to the site) and start playing the video and the click the record button.

Please provide debug logs showing your attempt to use DVR mode so I can see what is blocking the application from starting DVR mode.

If you want a refund then please request it here:  https://support.jaksta.com/support/tickets/new

I tried this before but here is the report. It still does not answer where is NOWtv. t states in your ad Ensure the  Digital Video Recorder Capture Method is selected to capture Nowtv; before opening the DVR browser. I wanted to use it for NOWtv Disney+ Netflix Spotify and Youtube but nothing seems to work only giving me long lists of downloading files I don't need

PS thankyou for the quick response

From @

sort of got spotify working but like you said need to click record so I need to play over 6 hours to down load a play list

Please switch on the following:

Restart JMR.

Try and DVR record so you get the error about it not being installed correctly and then provide debug logs as also msinfo32 export.

See here for how to get a msinfo32 export (towards bottom of the page)

If you keep trying to use AUTO mode on premium sites then you will only pickup ads etc.  The premium content streams can not be captured in this manner.  Only by DVR.

Spotify you need to use the Audio Recorder and ensure you are using the full desktop Spotify application and ensure secure boot if off

TV Now can be captured by the DVR just like disney, netflix etc.

So we just need to find out what is wrong with the DVR component on your machine.  Hopefully the logs and msinfo32 will point us in the right direction.

First thank you for your help. Spotify was working fine just means I need to play them all to down load no big deal. I don't think Nowtv will work because it only plays back through the NOWtv player not direct through the browser and that detects a recording device and blocks the stream. As for the others I don't know why the DVR feature does not work but I got what you requested

Thank you for your time and effort but I wasted over 12 hours downloading 2 playlists for my daughter from spotify over 200 songs in all only to find out many skipped at times some were split into 2 or 3 parts lots didn't even have the correct title So I now have over 300 files of recordings from around 230 songs most with the wrong name or unusable recordings. That on top of the NOWtv looking unlikely and Netflix, Disney+,Youtube still unresolved. I would like to request the refund. The idea of the product is fantastic and I hope they find a way to make it work but as it is it's useless to me. I wanted to record a film from NOWtv whilst I had the 7 day free trial that has gone now. I wanted to fill an MP3 player with my daughter's play lists for her birthday instead I have a folder full of files I can't use. I am disappointed but thank you for your time trying to make it work.

Nearly all Music is on Youtube in full clear quality. You could download them there with AUTO feature, make sure you search for lyrics videos because offical music videos sometimes have movie like parts included. also you need to listen to first 5 and last 5 seconds to make sure there is no unwanted extra sound added. each song downloads within 15 seconds time at max.

when you got alle the songs extract mp3 from jaksta converter or any converter you have so you get mini sized mp3

From @

no need for converter. just click in JMR on the download menu on conversion settings

formats -> mp3 -> extract audio mp3

and all YT songs will be saved like mp3

From @

I can already do that on various other programs I would not pay for another Youtube downloader or converter when I already have some that work fine. I was paying for a Spotify downloader to download all the tracks in a playlist with one click. Just this one task meant over 230 songs finding all of them on Youtube and downloading one at a time is a pain and some tracks might not even be on Youtube. I also paid for a NOWtv/Netflix/Disney+ downloader none of these work. I was offered a refund and I would like to take it.

As mentioned previously put your request in for a refund here:   https://support.jaksta.com/support/tickets/new

As a side note the logs you provided are showing that you are recording spotify in Stereo Mix (What you hear) mode.  This will record anything coming out of your speakers and can result in splitting of songs etc if there is a "ding" or any other sound from windows that comes out of your computer.  Spotify is best recorded using Application audio recording mode which records directly from the Spotify application.  Settings > Audio Recording > Audio Recording Method.

Your logs do not show the DVR component error, so I can comment on what is stopping that from working on your machine.

From @

No that does not work either using Application audio recording mode it does not detect anything from Spotify.

From @

As previously stated.

1. Ensure secure boot is off.

2. Ensure you are using the desktop version of spotify. (not the windows store version)

I have provided the links for both 1 and 2 above already.

From @

I did but thanks anyway. I already got refunded but good luck with the product it has great potential if you can get everything advertised to work. You  have a great support team.

Regards Peter
