Jaksta Media Recorder 7 - Auto Detect & Download Video

Hi

Is there an option to specify the format of the downloaded video file format.

Is the default file format always *.mov.

I can't help but notice that the final *.mov file size is about 4x as large, compared

to the *.mp4 file created under the "videos downloaded from URL" method.

Hence, I am wondering if there is anyway option in the settings to have the final

video output file format as *.mp4. rather than *.mov.

Thank you for your kind response.

Sin L Ong.

PS.

I need help here.

I am using this email account because I could not

a) register to sign up as a user on your tech support website.

The response I get is "Not authorised to access this portal... seek administrator help"

b) If I tried to sign in using my email account, the response I get is "email and password

you entered does not match."

If I chose the password and entered my email address ..

The response I get is "Not authorised to access this portal... seek administrator help"

Can you advise me how do I move forward from here.

Auto mode detects what is playing in your browser.  Depending on the protocol that is streamed depends on the file type.

When you enter the url into Jaksta and use the extraction method then you will be prompted for the format and qualities that can be extracted from the site.

Where multiple qualities and/or formats are detected then by default you will be prompted. However, you can see your prefered preferences. These settings are available via Settings > Internet Downloads > Prefered Download Quality and Format dropdowns.

You can also convert to your prefered output using the builtin converter.

Hi freshdesk,

Thank you so much for your prompt reply.

I have two follow-up questions.

Question 1)

I had set the two relevant settings as follow:

Preferred Download Quality: High

Preferred Download Format: mp4 (mov is not even listed as an option in the droplist.)

Why does the software still saved the Auto recording using the “mov” video format.

You wrote: "You can also convert to your prefered output using the builtin converter."

Can you please step me thru to I access this built-in converter?

Thank you so much.

Kind regards,

SL Ong.

They are preferred -  ie if multiple format/qualities exists this setting will be used to determine which one to download.  Otherwise you will be prompted to select.

The format/quality to convert to once a stream is downloaded can be selected using the menu highlighted below.
