Windows 10 Metro App Crashes
Asked by Drakah @ 27 Jan 2016 16:01 / Views: 209
I installed Windows 10 Pro and everything has been perfect, until Jaksta was installed. (JMR6-220.127.116.11.exe)
Once installed, it eventually breaks Windows 10 Metro UI enough that the Taskbar/Start Menu becomes unresponsive. You can right click still but unable to access any of the functionality. It also looks like time.windows.com is no longer wanting to connect to sync time.
I cleared most errors in my log but I did save this info because as soon as I saw the "location circle" in the systray, it would get stuck there and everything becomes unresponsive.
Does Jaksta have some program hook into location systems?

As soon as I uninstalled Jaksta, I have not had any Metro issues and the Windows location services went back to normal.

Is JMR running and monitoring when your system experiences this or does it happen even when JMR is not running but just installed?
No JMR does not hook into location systems. The only exe's we hook are for the audio recording capture method and you can see these on your system here: Settings > Audio Recording > Apps button. By default the following are hooked: "chrome.exe", "iexplore.exe", "firefox.exe", "plugin-container.exe", "opera.exe", "winamp.exe", "spotify.exe", "TIDALPlayer.exe", "wmplayer.exe", "itunes.exe", "safari.exe", "webkitwebprocess.exe", "FlashPlayerPlugin_", "vlc.exe", "amp.exe", "jmp.exe", "jwmpp.exe", "jbp.exe", "aolbrowser.exe", "pandora.exe", "QobuzDesktop.exe", "rhapsody.exe", "Amazon Music.exe", "seamonkey.exe".
Please upload your debug log files. They contain the installer log which does some checking off your system and might tell us things that may help you fix the issues with your computer. Get Support > Click paper airplane and follow the prompts and attached here.
We develop on Windows 10 Professional btw.
