Jaksta Media Recorder for Windows for Windows Technical Support Forum

Jaksta stops and flickers

 Hi!

A couple of days ago I started having strange problems with recordings. I did not change anything anywhere, but tried yesterday to reinstall the program. The problems still there. Now about the problems: 1. the Jaksta window starts all of a sudden flickering, and I can't do anything to stop the program, it doesn't respond. The only way to stop it is thru the window manager. 2. The program suddenly stops completely and shuts down during the recording.

Please help!

Thank you!

Mike

It did it again. This time around there was this message: Exception of type "System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

Logs dont show an out of memory error.  Please turn on debug and let it run until the out of memory error happens

Hi!

Here is the file. I hope this one is the one that's needed. I chose a stream and put the debug mode on, and later saw that the program stopped working. I started it again and sent the report to you. First the message was: the file is not in the archive or something like that. I pressed "send" again, and then I was prompted that the file was on the desktop.

I hope this is the correct one.

Thank you!

Mike

P.S. I noticed as well that the "stop" process all of a sudden became very, very long. The "cancelling" action was going on for 30-40 min.

Logs dont show a memory error.

Please switch on debug logs and then do what ever to have the memory error occur.  Then collect them and attach them here.

I assume your cancelling issue is being caused by muxing to create a playable file. more info here:  https://www.jaksta.com/support/windows/kb/faq/muxing-is-taking-a-long-time-6000254222

Hi!

The memory error appeared only once when I was trying to close the flickering Jaksta window. In all the other cases (quite many) the Jaksta window just started flickering and the program would shut down. Or the program would shut down when I was not around.

P.S. Thanks for explaining the cancelling issue.

Mike

Is that the one released on Oct 08, 2020??? This one I installed, and it continues to malfunction - after some time all info in the Jaksta window flickers, then disappears and the program shuts down. And then it may function for some time, even thru the day and nite till the next glitch occurs. It's really so strange after years of more or less smooth functioning.

Hello again!

I installed this version, but sadly it does the same - works for a while and then starts flickering and stops working!

So strange!! It was working quite well before.

Could it be some Windows or Firefox silent updates that affect the program???

Mike

Chaser.

Could it be the FFmpeg.exe, because it doesn't allow me to delete the recorded files??? Says: the action cannot be completed because the file is open in FFmpeg.exe
